Amsive has been certified to Forest Stewardship Council ® FSC® chain-of-custody standards (since 2008).  All of us at Amsive are concerned about the potential negative consequences our processes may have on the environment. It has been and will always be our goal to reduce these consequences by reducing our waste generation and emissions at their source. This commitment is at the very core of our business model. In fact, Amsive was an early participant in the Illinois Great Printers Program, and through this program we have learned that there is always a more environmentally friendly way to do things. We are constantly looking to improve, and our commitment to environmental stewardship often leads the way.

Best print-manufacturing practices start with being properly registered and licensed with state and Federal agencies.  Our permits are as follows:

  • Air permit with IL EPA is #15090042 for site ID #197415ABZ.
  • Land permit with US EPA is #ILR000177220
  •  Water permit with IL EPA is ILRX01265 which is a "no exposure" permit since water is not a by-product of our manufacturing.

We have taken many steps in pollution prevention over our history; some have come about because of technological advancements, but many have been put in place simply by behaving responsibly. As part of these continuing efforts, we have also become certified to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody standards as part of our commitment to responsible forest management.

We will continue to:

  • recycle all aluminum plates, oil residues, waste paper, cardboard, and plastic
  • utilize efficient automatic blanket washers and fountain solution replenishers
  • use only low-VOM fountain solutions, low vapor-pressure cleaning agents, and solvent-free inks
  • employ a 100% digital pre-press workflow, and offer color-managed virtual proofing
  • offer a web portal for automatic job entry and fulfillment for clients
  • track any spoilage or process variation that occurs and follow-up with a root cause analysis and process improvement
  • find ways to become more sustainable by reducing energy costs, water consumption, and excess use of any material
